Know What To Look For

o you suspect a family member or co-worker uses drugs? One who does may be endangering or abusing you. Take note of the following signs of drug abuse. If you’re still suspicious after reviewing the list, get help from Narcotics Anonymous, a mental health professional or your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselor.

SIGNS OF DRUG ABUSE
chronic red eyes, sore throat or dry cough
chronic lying
deteriorating relationships with co-workers or friends
wild mood swings, hostility or abusive behavior
chronic fatigue (circles under the eyes)
withdrawal from or disinterest in favorite activities
carelessness about grooming
depression
absenteeism
weight loss
possession of drug paraphernalia
obvious intoxication
school, work or legal problems
frequent use of mouth wash or breath sprays
burns on hands or clothing
